When an artist sells prints or art prints instead of the original artwork, they are typically considered a commercial artist. This is because they are reproducing their original work for mass distribution and sale. However, some artists may still be considered freelance if they are creating prints on a commission basis or maintaining creative control over the reproduction process. Ultimately, the distinction between commercial and freelance artist can vary depending on the individual artist's business model and approach to selling prints. **
